How do I join the Club?

Complete the application form and return it to the Administrator at the Club Address. The Administrator will write to you after one week. There is no playing in test for tennis or squash. If you have a problem finding a proposer or seconder, contact the Administrator, Linda Deslandes.

What does membership cost?

All tennis and squash playing members pay a once-only joining fee plus an annual subscription. At present no additional charge is made for use of the tennis courts, apart from a charge for floodlights which is payed via a coin box when these are required. Squash players pay a court fee at the time of booking via the on-line booking system. Social members pay only an annual subscription. See the Applications and Downloads section of this site for up-to-date membership fees and the Squash section for court fees.

Can I have a Family Membership?

For two or more playing members in your family you will be entitled to a 5% discount each for up to a maximum of five members, e.g. two members = 10%, etc. Please note that a parent or guardian of all juniors must become a member in the initial year of joining (this can be as a social member if they do not wish to join as a playing member). Please note that social members neither qualify for nor count towards the family discount.

What if I join half way through the year?

If your application is later than the start of our subscription year, 1 March to 28 February following year, we will pro rata the costs into quarter payments. i.e. 1 June to 31 August, less one quarter subscription listed, 1 September to 30 November, less half subscription listed.

How do I change my membership category?

Contact the Club Administrator for information.

What do I wear?

Tennis - on court proper tennis clothes and shoes must be worn. Trainers and ridged soled shoes are unacceptable because they can damage the court surface. Black soled shoes are unacceptable because they can mark the court surface.

Squash - predominantly white clothing shall be worn. Black soled shoes and ridged soled shoes are not permitted under any circumstances.

Can I bring guests to the Club?

Yes. A member may introduce one guest at any one time to play either tennis or squash on payment of the appropriate guest fee. No guest may play at the Club more than three times in any calendar year. The visitor's book is held in the entrance lobby.

How can I find out what's going on?

The Club organises a year-round programme of key events for Members. You will find full details of these programmes on the notice board. Key events are advised to members by email but you should keep an eye on the News and Calendar pages of this website for up-to-the-minute information re all sporting and social club activity.

How do I join the leagues?

Squash - sign up on the board leading to the squash courts. Come along to Friday club night from 6.30pm to assess your standard.

Tennis - sign up on the tennis league notice in the snug, left coming into the lounge.
