Juniors
We have a thriving junior section of boys and girls and cater for all ages, from age 4 mini tennis (we are an LTA 'mini tennis' accredited tennis club) right up to age 18. Junior membership includes Tennis and Squash, allowing both sports to be played at low cost. We aim to give our junior members as enjoyable a time as possible, whilst at the same time improving their playing standards and encouraging them to participate in club and non-club tournaments and competitions.
We have a child protection policy in place in line with LTA and England Squash guidelines.
Tennis
Our head coach Brian Love, with his fully qualified coaching team, offers comprehensive and extensive coaching for individuals, groups and performance squads. Complementary coaching is provided courtesy of the club on selected junior nights throughout the year.
Our junior programme has seen a big expansion in recent years. We start the children off at 4 years of age in our MINI RED GROUPS, which teaches ball skills, movement and hand eye co-ordination. They play on a small court with RED LOW COMPRESSION balls and small rackets. They then progress on to MINI ORANGE GROUPS where technique is taught, then to MINI GREEN where tactics come into play. After going through this programme, our juniors are fully competent to play full court tennis. You can find full details of the different colour MINI GROUPS HERE.
Junior tennis club night sessions run every Friday from 4pm to 8pm, depending on age group, with priority for juniors on all courts.
Junior Tennis camps for all age groups are run during school holidays. For details of what's coming up click here
Competitions
We enter a number of local and county competitions for all age groups where several of our junior members play at very high level.
Our friendly, long established Audrey Hughes Open Tournament is run in the first week of the school summer holidays. This tournament is run on a 'round robin' basis. Watch out for further information about this year's event in the News and Upcoming Events sections. Application forms will also be available from this site in plenty of time for you to enter this enjoyable tournament.
Squash
In recent years our club has provided several county standard players. Squash coach, Jeremy Colton, attends Fridays club night to encourage and motivate the juniors. He is also available for individual and group coaching sessions.
Junior squash club night runs every Friday evening from 5pm to 6.30pm with beginner and improver sessions provided by Jeremy.
Competitions
A number of juniors play in the Surrey Cup, as well as social fixtures organised by Jeremy. Two teams are planned to play competitive squash.
